Our Story

Our vision is to create unforgettable, successful and connected events for our clients, in any situation, whether it be virtual or in person.

As expected, our Founder Gemma Loyer is one of the most organised people you will meet. She is a passionate Events Manager and has experience coordinating a variety of corporate, private, community, fundraising and quirky bespoke events we all wish we had a ticket to.

Gem deeply enjoys learning about cultures in faraway places. She had the opportunity to travel to Cambodia and worked at the grass roots with HelpAge Cambodia, an organisation that drives community development projects focused on supporting their elders.

With knowledge comes responsibility. As she travelled and met many communities in different countries, she uncovered that there is a disconnect between donor desires, in terms of how their funds are to be used, and what that community may actually want. And while accountability to the donor is critical in order to secure the funds, this issue meant neither was enjoying full impact.

After much contemplation and meditation, Femdala Events was born as a step in the right direction – a business inspired to act consciously and with purpose while attracting clients eager to support a social enterprise that donates 10% of profits directly to projects that support the empowerment of older people.

We partner with charities who live and breathe Senior’s rights every day. We’ve chosen our particular partners because we know and trust our funding will have the greatest impact in their hands. Our partners work at a grassroots level. We are not the experts of older people’s rights, older people are so we need to listen to them and partner with others who do the same.

What does Femdala mean?

Fem comes from being female-lead and in Sanskrit, Mandala, means ‘circle’ which represents the universe where all is eternally interconnected.

We believe every event is intrinsically valuable – a joyful moment (whatever it may be) will never be repeated in exactly the same way.

Even the smallest event has entwined ongoing effects on the people who attended, onlookers, suppliers, each attendee’s family and friends, and the wider community in a multitude of ways. And we see this outcome as our responsibility to get right.
