The next St Albans Town Centre community activation put together for Brimbank City Council was a family movie night under the stars (or at least that’s what we had hoped for!).

The featured film was ‘The War with Grandpa’ which was a comedy for all ages to enjoy. With the comfort of bean bags and deck chairs, as well as was free popcorn and drinks bubble tea, this helped us draw in a crowd of over 200 attendees!

Unexpectedly, an episode of rainfall happened during our event but that definitely wasn’t enough to stop the show from going on!

St Albans Lunar New Year Festival 2022

Event: Sunday 13 February 2022

We had the absolute pleasure of getting to collaborate with the St Albans Business Group Association and put together the 24th annual St Albans Lunar New Year Festival on a warm Summer Sunday.

The event, which was organised in six weeks instead of the usual 6 months, turned out to be a huge success attracting about 80,000 people that passed throughout the course of the day. One of the largest events coming out of Melbourne’s lockdowns.

To kickstart the festival, everyone was welcomed with the customary greetings from the SABGAI President, as well as MPs and other well-regarded members within the community. This was followed by a lively traditional Lion Dance performance, where the dancers gambolled about to the beat of pounding drunks and crashing cymbals – a dazzling spectacle to set the tone for all the amazing festivities this event had to offer.

Attendees were treated to a wide selection of food stalls, rides games and entertainment – something fun for every age.

To wrap up such an eventful day, those that were still around in the evening got to witness a stunning fireworks display that filled the night sky.

We are so grateful to have been part of such an amazing day!
