Event: Saturday 30 October 2021

Continuing to deliver activities on behalf of Brimbank City Council to reactivate the St Albans Town Centre post-lockdown, we organised some more roving entertainment – but this time, we took a spookier approach. 

In the spirit of Halloween, we had zombies roam around the streets paying surprise visits to the local shop owners and their customers. Thank you to Xlent Events for keeping the community on their toes with these scary (looking) yet friendly guests!

The latest event for Brimbank City Council to reactivate the St Albans Town Centre post-lockdown, involved roving music.

Phil the Accordion Player shared his amazing musical talent with those visiting the area around the St Albans Community Centre and St Albans Market that day. What a nice touch to your Friday grocery shopping experience.

Event: Sunday 25 April 2021

Having gained some good momentum with the program in St Albans Town Centre, the next event Femdala organised for Brimbank City Council was the King Hung Vuong Festival with 100 egg puppets.

This festival was created to celebrate the traditional founders of Vietnam with dance, music and giant puppets. Yes, you read correctly – giant puppets. We were graced by the presence of a large, majestic bird and dragon.

We’d like to give a big thank you to the local Vietnamese community, artists, and Snuff Puppets for making this such an enjoyable event.

Next up on the activation program rollout, Femdala worked with Brimbank City Council to put together another youth event.

The event was used as an opportunity to consult with local youth, and identify what library services would be of interest to them. A dance workshop and local musicians provided live music for the youth community to enjoy.

Event: Wednesday 7 April 2021

In our ongoing efforts for Brimbank City Council to reactivate the St Albans community post-lockdown, we put together another event for the kids, aged 2 to 14, during school holidays.

The next St Albans Town Centre community activation put together for Brimbank City Council was a day dedicated to the youth.

Put together during Diversity Week 2021, the event involved partnering with local youth organisations to design a fun and interactive day for our young people. Partners of the event included the Western Bulldogs Community Team, Reclink Australia and local social workers.

Onsite activities for the day included a mini basketball and football tournament.
